Home / Employment
Regeneration is about much more than new business parks, housing developments and physical environmental improvements. For regeneration to be effective, it needs to impact on the skills and capacity of local people.
Groundwork develops employment programmes that both meet the needs of individuals and deliver on wider regeneration priorities. We develop employment programmes that benefit individuals and deliver a valuable service to the community, working with the long-term unemployed, those lacking basic skills, young offenders and individuals that other agencies may find hard to support.
We try to realise the potential of individuals by providing supported employment opportunities in areas such as landscaping, neighbourhood services, environmental maintenance and construction alongside personal skills development. We are a deliverer of the government’s New Deal Environmental Task Force alongside other local initiatives where apprentices earn a wage working on local regeneration projects.
